An unprecedented loop with the Mont Blanc as a backdrop, a long day with some very special passes, ‘simply’ 330km and 8,300m/d+, that’s the programme that awaits the participants in the 12th edition of the Tour du Mont Blanc on Saturday 13 July.

Departure from Les Saisies at 5.00 am for a route that takes you from France to Switzerland to Italy and back to France.

Your long day begins with a gradual succession of passes, Vaudagne and Col des Montets, taking you towards Switzerland and the canton of Valais. There, the Col de la Forclaz awaits you. Once past the summit, you’ll find the day’s second feed station at the foot of the first major climb of the day, the Champex ascent.

The next difficulty is the legendary Col du Grand Saint-Bernard! At the summit, you’ll have a chance to refuel before crossing the border into Italy and a long descent into the Aosta Valley!

After that, no less than 175km await you, with around 4,000m of ascent. The ascent will be found almost exclusively on three legendary passes: the Petit Saint-Bernard, the Cormet de Roselend and the Col des Saisies, the last hurdle before the finish in this beautiful resort!

But beware of the time cut-offs: 8pm in Bourg Saint-Maurice and 10.30pm at the summit of Cormet de Roselend.
